Description

The 2022 European Week for Safety and Health at Work will be again raising awareness about the Healthy »>https://healthy-workplaces.eu/en »>Healthy Workplaces Campaign 20-22, running since October 2020. With the topic: Healthy Workplaces Lighten the Load, the campign tackles the prevention of work-related musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs).

The campaign is putting the focus on different « https://healthy-workplaces.eu/en/about-topic/priority-areas" target= »_self »>priority areas » within the wide topic of MSDs, and until now several pirority areas have gathered a variety of resources, such as info sheets, infographics, presentations, reports, OSHwiki articles and many more. Many https://healthy-workplaces.eu/en/media-centre/news" target= »_self »>news articles are also being published highlighting different angles of these priority areas. https://healthy-workplaces.eu/en" data-titlebm= »
Excessive workload and high work intensity can both increase workers’ stress levels, which in turn can increase their muscular tension and their sensitivity to feeling pain. Furthermore, lack of control over work tasks or over how or the pace at which tasks are performed, as well as a lack of support from colleagues or management, can also increase the risk of MSDs. This is because if workers feel under too much pressure at work, this inhibits workers from taking the proper precautions or adopting safe working postures and practices, and thus psychosocial factors become risk factors for MSDs.
» data= » » class= »lexicon-term »>Psychosocial https://healthy-workplaces.eu/en" data-titlebm= »
Occupational risk refers to the likelihood and the severity of an injury or an illness occurring as a result of exposure to a hazard.
» data= » » class= »lexicon-term »>risks will be the last priority area to be launched and promoted from September to November 2022.

EU-OSHA collaborates with an extensive network of https://healthy-workplaces.eu/en/campaign-partners/national-focal-point…; target= »_self »>national focal points, https://healthy-workplaces.eu/en/campaign-partners/official-campaign-pa…; target= »_blank »>official campaign partners, https://healthy-workplaces.eu/en/campaign-partners/campaign-media-partn…; target= »_blank »>media partners and OSH ambassadors from the https://healthy-workplaces.eu/en/campaign-partners/enterprise-europe-ne…; target= »_blank »>Enterprise Europe Network. They work together to raise awareness during the European Week, organising many events, including conferences, competitions, training sessions, exhibitions and networking and good practice events, both online and onsite (COVID-19 pandemic permitting). In 2022 partners can focus the European Week on any of the priority areas or on any other interesting topic for the prevention of MSDs.
